Why three quotes for the same job look nothing alike
When the proposals in front of you differ wildly, the difference is usually not price. It is scope. One studio is describing a purchased theme with your content placed into it. Another is describing design and development from nothing. A third has folded copywriting and a year of maintenance into the same figure. All three used the phrase corporate website.
That is why we quote in items rather than in a single number: how many pages, which sections, how many revision rounds, which browsers and devices are tested, what is handed over at the end, how long support runs, and what falls outside the agreement. The document is designed to be laid next to someone else's proposal, because a client who can compare properly makes a better decision, including when that decision is not us.
Exclusions are stated rather than buried. Domain and hosting are not part of the package, and we recommend registering both in your own company name so they remain your property. You provide the content; copywriting is available as a separate paid item if you want it.
